Tales from Summer Travels

Pssst! Last chance to see our exhibition (and make your purchase) is this Saturday, 4th September!

Work from twenty of the Blackberry Artists is showcased for the summer in the Plum Gallery display case of the arts centre in Port Moody. Our group show is on the theme Summer Travels, and some of the pieces on display have some interesting stories with them.

This beautiful scarf from weaver Beryl Hickinbottom developed as the result of a workshop she took.

"The black and gold scarf is of merino and lycra.   This is technique I learned recently from New Zealand weaver Anne Field,   who taught workshops at Capilano University in May.   The scarf is woven 11" wide and when washed in hot water the lycra shrinks pulling the wool into pleats."
