City Hall Featured Artist: Pauline Doyle

This month, City Hall is playing host to a fantastic collection of ceramic artist Pauline Doyle's work. If you've swooned over Pauline's frogs in the shop and sighed at her soft box sculptures, prepare to have the socks blown off you with the sheer inventiveness and creativity in her latest work.

Yes - there are soft boxes, but this time topped with reclining figures and flowers.
Yes, there are pots - but pots with openings reminiscent of a certain Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors perhaps.
Yes, there is sculpture - but a forest of trees, with children in the branches.

Oh my!
Visit, and visit soon. The display comes down at the end of this month.

All work is for sale - phone the gift shop (604 931 2008 ext: 102) to arrange your purchase.

Late Night Shopping at July's Gallery Opening

Welcome one and welcome all!
Celebrate the launch of another exhibition at Port Moody Arts Centre with us on Thursday, July 17th between 6pm and 8pm.
Gallery opening receptions are free to attend, catered with a tempting array of both seasonal nibbles and artist encounters, and replete with a cash bar for a sophisticated atmosphere.

This month's exhibition Natural Inspirations features work by the Passionate Outdoor Painters, a group of keen Tri Cities artists who work en plein air.
Our Blackberry Gift Shop will be open during the reception and it's a great opportunity to see works by our members that are inspired by the world around them.
For example, artist Vicki Allesia takes us visually all the way to her summer cabin in her amazing acrylic paintings, while artists Elizabeth Wallace and Jane Ostenstad leads us into their gardens with amazing flower images.

Meet our Artists: Art in the Garden Fair on Saturday July 19

Artists Tom Reid and Pauline Doyle showing how it's done!

Blackberry artists will once again be out and about in their community supporting the arts in Port Moody! We're taking part in the Port Moody Arts Centre's Art in the Garden event on Saturday, July 19th. Our artists will be giving demos of their work. We'll be behind the arts centre from 10am to 4pm, amongst all the other excitement of the garden fair (and next to the food ...).
Roll up, roll up! Real life artists in your midst! Come and chat with them as they work on new projects and learn what it takes to be an artist.
The Art in the Garden Fair is free and open to all. If you'd like to take the garden tour, see the poster below for details and ticket prices.
