... last chance to see ...

The sculpture is meant to represent the importance of the railroad in the 100 years of growth of the city, e.g. connecting, forest, mountain and sea to the city (therefore the wrap around of the vessel by the railroad track) I call it “Time capsule of the Port Moody Golden Spike” (this is just symbolic and echoes the yearly Golden Spike event).

The Centennial Exhibition at the Port Moody Civic Centre Galleria closes on September 20th. So hurry on down to check out artist Myrta Hayes' ceramic sculpture shown above.
