Embrace Vertical
intarsia work by Del Holbrook at the entrance to the gift shop
Embrace our verticals to their full extent so that you don't miss out an a single thing during your visit to the gift shop.
For example, take a look down and to the left as you enter from the Arts centre reception for the display just below the glass windows.
works by printmaker, James Mah
Once inside the gift shop, turn to your right and lift your eyes up to the art work adorning the brick work above the old vault.
And before leaving, don't forget to stoop a little to see what's in the low display cabinet before the door.
You won't be disappointed.

February's Featured Artist:: Urszula Petrykowska
This month we get back to normal programming in the gift shop with the return of our Featured Artist display. Each month, one of our members is showcased which allows you, dear viewer, to get a little more exposure to their work.
This month is the turn of Urszula Petrykowska, one of the talented jewellery artists in our collective.
Urszula has recently graduated from the renowned jewelry program at Vancouver Community College.
All of the jewelers in the gift shop have a different area of expertise, and Urszula's area of interest is in metal. She works in sterling silver and copper, shaping and forming pieces by hand.
Her work is unique, featuring inspirations from nature and the landscapes around her.
Each of her pieces is a beautiful and wearable piece of art.
More of her work is currently on display along with other members of the Blackberry Artist's Society in the Roots: Year of the Forest display at Leigh Square in Port Coquitlam.

Down Your Street
watercolour print giftcard by Gay Torlay
We'd like you to think of the Blackberry Gift Shop as home.
Well, not in a "sling up your hammock and spend the night here" way (though I think some of the members did wonder about this during their mammoth shift commitments for the Christmas Marketplace) but more as a "think of us as your local gift shop". We are, in fact, just down your street; the local one-stop shop for all your gift-buying needs. Here you can source that unique locally crafted present for a dear aunt or out-of-town visitors (feel free to direct them here, dropping heavy hints for that special hostess gift too). Choose from our collection of artist cards to accompany your purchase, and then wrap the whole thing up (pardon the pun) with an eco-friendly, reusable cloth gift bag.
Think of us as just next door to home.
PS: Valentine's Day is coming very soon!
