New items from Del Holbrook in the shop

Since Christmas Del has been creating new pieces for the shop. Usually he has a theme - flowers, animals, etc. But this year he has chosen to make a variety of things; sailboat, wreath, lillies, snake and this penguin. "Penguins" is a reminder of his trip to Antarctica in 2008 where he saw thousands of King Penguins with their chicks, just as this piece depicts. The penguin stands 16" tall and is 8" wide and is made of Walnut, Pine, Denim Pine, Yellow Cedar, Alder, Yew and Ebony. Come into the shop quickly before someone takes them home!

March Featured Artist: Sandra Ho

Each month the Blackberry Gift Shop features a different artist by showcasing their work in a larger display. This month the unique jewelry of Sandra Ho is on display.

 Sandra has been creating jewelry since 2002. Her materials include high quality gemstones, precious metals, pearls and glass, all composed with a wonderful eye for colour, texture and balance. Her designs are luxurious, bringing a touch of class to formal attire, but being equally at home in a casual wardrobe.

Her work consists of traditional jewelry pieces (bracelets, necklaces, earrings) plus belts, bookmarks and accessories for your phone or purse.

Welcome to the home of the Blackberry Artist's Society, the Blackberry Gift Shop inside the Port Moody Arts Centre. This space functions as both an exhibition for our members' works but also a sales space so members of the public can select original art and crafts made by local artists.


Whether you are looking for something personal, home accessories or a gift for someone special, you are sure to find the perfect item here. Additionally, items can be further personalised with a handcrafted art card and gift bag.

A sneak peak outside - looking north across the Inlet up to Heritage Woods from the park behind the Arts Centre. This is from last year but there was still a dusting of snow when I checked yesterday!

testing testing testing ..... ad nauseam

and of course, in common with all other endeavours, there's a lot of construction work going on. Testing and re-testing of links before anything substantial comes into being.

With any luck the Blackberry Artist's Society new social network should be linked up, running and publishing by the date of the AGM (which for your information is coming up this Sunday, 21st March at 2pm in the Board Room of Port Moody Arts Centre - all members are required to attend!)(or provide cheesecake ...... but that's another story).

This is blog is a little like the the image above - it exists but everything is packed away in boxes and hidden from view.
Pretty soon though the boxes will be unpacked and the goodies will be on show.
